National League betting tip: Kings Lynn Town- Chesterfield

National League: Kings Lynn Town- Chesterfield
Talking of long journeys, Kings Lynn went to Yeovil and back for a Saturday game, another 12 hour round trip, maybe longer on a Bank Holiday weekend and recorded a 2-1 win. However, they were trailing 1-0 before the home side had a player sent off and KLT conceded 24 goals in their last eight starts and were fortunate to get their first win in that sequence against the Glovers. Kings Lynn lost 25/42 starts last season, conceding a massive 98 goals (2.33 pg) and were blessed that there was no relegation and so they have survived for a second season in the 5th tier. They have come a long way in a very short time and it feels like one too many promotions have caught up with them in a very competitive league.
Chesterfield were in League 1 as recently as 2017, but successive relegations saw them fall out of the Football League, they are now starting their 4th season in the National and after a big second half of the season push to finish 6th in 20-21, they are all geared up for a return to the FL. They fell out of the blocks last season picking up just 10 points from a possible 33, but averaged over 1.9 pg after that, which would have been good for 80 points and second place across the full campaign. They have scored 18 goals in their last 8 starts, 2+ in seven, which included a 4-1 defeat of KLT and their only loss came in a playoff qualifier. The Spirites won 11 on the road last season and have assembled a big and very experienced squad for this campaign which will serve them doubly well for quick turnarounds like this. They are a big club at this level and will take a lot of supporters to the game today 1,000 + (?) which can make a huge difference at some of these small non league stadiums.
The signing of Kabongo Tshimanga feels like a major statement of intent,he scored 38 goals in 79 games for Boreham Wood and was heavily courted by a whole host of FL teams. His former club said they had set the fee for a League 1 of Championship team to buy and openly stated that no fellow non league team could afford it, but Chesterfield did and whilst it was not disclosed, Boreham Wood described it as an "amazing fee" ! The striker has already started to repay the fee with a goal and Chesterfield have six points on board and it should be 9 after today. BTW Tshimanga scored a hat-trick against Kings Lynn the last time he faced them , which was only five months ago.
