France: Ligue 2 betting preview: Bourg en Bresse Peronnas 01- Dijon
That is a huge amount of talent to lose in one off season and all were key defenders in what was an incredibly defensive minded team who were all about keeping things tight and looking to steal a goal, especially on the road. I am not going to completely write off Brest yet, but will need to see the replacements in action before backing them and for now, they look vulnerable.
They have actually kept back to back clean sheets in the league and have four points on board after a 2-0 home win over Nimes at the weekend, the jury is very much still out on that opponent, but a win is a win, however, I am still not fully convinced about them, they should win this if they take the competition seriously and looking at the team news, they certainly seem to be and they will want to keep the momentum they have built up, ahead of a tricky trip to Nancy in three days time. BEB have managed a goal in both starts and will need at least one to get anything from this, I would not totally rule out a shock away win, as even being in the competition is probably a big deal for the visitors.
It would be great for them and good for Ligue 2 if they could get a result today, but I doubt it will come along with a clean sheet, the home side have already conceded seven in three starts, at least two in each and are facing a talented Dijon side who have scored six in their last two, with Julio Tavares (pictured) who is vital to how Dijon play in road games, something we have touched upon a lot in the past, scoring three. They have finished top 7 in each of the last three seasons, but have been higher in the table each year at the half way stage and have too often flattered to deceive, but they have again got off to a decent start and might be at their best now and in the next couple of months, rather than over the second half of the campaign. They are without striker Lois Diony tonight, but that is more than offset by the return of Varrault and Bamba to defence, after the pair were rested in midweek. I guess if you twisted my arm to pick a winner, I would probably opt for DFCO, but I suspect they will need two goals and possibly three to claim it and odds wise, I much prefer .......
