Serie A betting preview..........
Jan 04, 2023
Numbers alongside each team are the last four games xG, BC's, ITB attempts and overall xP position.
Serie A: Lecce- Lazio
Lecce 3.7 / 4.5, 5-6, 22-28, 14th
Lazio 4.2 / 3.6, 5-3, 22-21, 8th
Considering their respective league positions, numbers for these two are similar, albeit with the visitors being stronger defensively. Lazio lost heavily at Juventus immediately before the break which was a bit of a shock as they had been very impressive on the road and ahead of a trip to Fiorentina in October I noted ..........
Fiorentina won easily in Edinburgh on Thursday when we sided with them, but to be honest that was more about opposing the Scottish side Hearts, than being desperate to back La Viola. The hosts are struggling domestically, they have won just once in seven starts, scoring only three goals total and in all competitions, they have failed to score in 6/11. Lazio could move up to T3rd with the win and have played with great freedom on the road under Maurizio Sarri, as almost all his teams do, they have lost 1/11 away starts and incredibly, scored 3+ goals in 8 of their last 15 Serie A road outings, including a 3-0 win here at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in February. The head coach has lost only 1/11 h2h games with Fiorentina and La Viola have not scored in the last four of those. His Fiorentina counterpart Vicenzo Italiano has lost all four meetings with Lazio, the double last year and the same the previous season with his former club. Sarri and his backroom staff revamped this squad in the off season and this group is now very much at ease with his tried and tested fluid and at times electric 4-3-3 ,which can overwhelm the opposition, especially on the road. In transition, it is the blueprint from where that fine Napoli away form we discuss so often originally came from. He has done all this while also tightening things up defensively and Lazio have not conceded in three starts with a 10-0 goal difference and 11-2 for BC's .
In the last 12 months Lazio have posted a 10-4-3 road record, scoring 3+ goals in eight of those ten wins and in all three games versus bottom 8 opponents.
Lecce are quite interesting given their stats, but they are without a clean sheet in 15 top flight home games and have only kept one in 30 (!) starts here . However, they have scored in 16/17 themselves and are the only team to post positive numbers against Atalanta recently and both trends can continue today, with a goal at least for each.
2.5 units both teams to score 2.01 asian line.
Good luck!
