Oh my goodness, this could/should be entertaining!

 

The Bengals beat the Titans last week to move to 7-4 for the season , after starting 0-2.........

 

This should be fun, as we have two teams building up a head of steam. The Titans have won 7/8 and their only loss in that run was in overtime in KC against the Chiefs, but many wins have been close and they match up very poorly with the Bengals, who are strong where Tennessee are weak. Cincy have won 6/8 and are coming up the rails just like they did last season and are starting to score for fun, averaging 38 points in the last three weeks and doing so without star receiver Ja'Marr Chase and when he is fit to return (next week ?) they are going to be a scarily good passing team. The Titans pass defense is not good and they have given up 288 yards to receivers, the most in the NFL. When we add in the fact that last week against the Steelers (a similar team against the pass as TT) they also added another dimension to that aerial threat, usually throwing mainly to the outside or screens, they stepped up and were going over the middle a lot from empty formations, which is not what teams expect from the Bengals and that will keep the Titans guessing. Where the Titans are strong is getting out to an early lead and then using their running game to use up the clock and keep them there, but they are 0-2 against teams who start quicker than them and were beat out of sight by one of those, the Bills, who are #1 for first quarter and #2 for first half scoring, Cincy are #2 and #5 respectively and as I started by saying, this feels like a poor match up for the Titans.

 

Chase is still listed as questionable, but trained fully on Friday and surely he will line up today.

 

I speak often of the Chiefs playing with more freedom on the road and at Arrowhead they usually win , but it is frequently hard work. This season they have scored 41+ plus points at Tampa Bay (2020 Super Bowl winners), Arizona and the 49ers (best defense in the NFL) and Patrick Mahomes who is the best QB in the NFL and the stats say he is even better than everything we see with our own eyes, loves to match up with fellow young "name" QB's and Joe Burrow of the Bengals is right "up there" and the result is almost always a shootout. Cincy are the reverse to the Chiefs and it is at home they go for it, averaging 34.7 points in their last three home games. We have two gunslingers heading into town , with some issues with their running games and both ranked top 3 in yardage, touchdowns and long throws and wanting to match themselves mano-a-mano. The two teams met here late last season the Chiefs won 34-31, Burrow was amazing, 446 yards, 4 TD's and a passer rating of 148.0 and lost! 

 

I have landed my two best bets of the NFL season at odds of 2.80 and 2.96 and this is a little shorter, but has to be ranked similarly........
