La Liga betting tip: Valencia-Levante

Back in January I wrote that .........."Levante and Valencia have bottom four numbers for the season". Now the terrible duo are bottom two and Los Che are a net -53 for their last 14 games (creating the fewest attempts ITB in La Liga) and Levante have allowed double digit (10+) ITB attempts against them in 18 starts to date and their 101 chances given up since New Year are over 11 per game and 26 more than the next worst team.... who are Valencia ! Awful figures and each should have a very big question mark against their name.
Levante along with Mallorca and Valladolid make the bottom four in both ITB and XP lists.
Levante have a beyond awful average XG of -0.65 per game.
Good news for both teams today is that they are playing each other !
Bad news for me/us is that means we cannot oppose both !
Valencia are the fourth biggest club in Spain, Levante are only the third biggest in Valencia with Villarreal sandwiched in between. Actually, today's game is the traditional Valencia derby, but the two did not meet for 40 years until 2005 and Levante have not won here at Mestalla in the league since 1937, with Valencia winning 9 of the last 13 (4 draws in a row between 2008-2013) including the last five. Eight of those nine wins came by 2+ goals, including the last six .
Valencia are still in the Champions League race, but are 3-5 points adrift of the other four teams (competing for two spots) and hard to see how they can bridge the gap or finish top 4 without winning today, especially as they travel to Madrid to play Real in six days time. Los Che won the reverse fixture 4-2 back in early December coming from 2-0 down inside 20 minutes to claim all three points, they created six BC's (big chances) three of which they missed and it is all too easy to see them getting plenty of good goalscoring opportunities today, even without midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia who is suspended, He didn't play in that 4-2 win and Valencia have won 13 of the last 22 starts the injury prone Frenchman has sat out. Great home record in this fixture for Valencia, their need is great , they dominated the reverse meeting and with Levante having lost 14/18 away starts, it has to be the key trend to continue.

Valencia are 8-5-1 at home after the break, second only to Barcelona, Levante have lost a La Liga joint high 8 games on the road in the second half , conceding a league high 18 goals in the process.
