I often wonder where it all went wrong for Tom Brady . The multi-millionaire, tall, good looking quarterback, who still has all his own hair, six Super Bowl titles , is playing the sport he loves at age 43 , with the Brazilan superstar model wife who is even richer than he is ! Sucks to be him !
NFL:Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Green Bay Packers
Very basic notes today, but we have covered all four teams in detail this month in any case.
Green Bay have looked really bad just once this season, in that they raced out to a 10-0 lead and then shipped 38 points without reply , Aaron Rodgers threw a pick-six (a reception returned for a touchdown) and it all went downhill from there, with the veteran completely losing confidence, he threw another later in the game , was sacked four times, and pressured countless others, he completed just 16/35 passes and did not throw a TD, the problem for him and the Packers is that it was the Bucs they played that day ! I am not sure that Tampa Bay can play as well defensively today, but they just might and also, might not need to ! The Bucs have subsequently fine tuned that passing game and Tom Brady has, if not re-invented himself then, is showing us things (deep threat) we have not seen from him for many years.

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat Washington 31-23. There were only two points in this at the end of the third quarter, but Brady got great protection against the good pass rushing defense of WFT. Brady threw for 381 yards, his average of 9.53 yards per pass attempt being the most of all quarterbacks in action last week and provided further evidence of what we already knew, that the Bucs and Brady are a long downfield passing team. This is not what TB was for two decades in New England and for a 43yo to come in and adapt, rather than the team play to his perceived and multiple strengths, is incredible. He put up a passer rating of 104.3 which is decent, but he was 128.9 on passes which travelled 10 yards or more through the air, his two TD passes were for 27 and 36 yards.
They prevailed at New Orleans last week, who, like Washington, are an elite (top 5) passing defense, Green Bay are average (14th) . How much TBB has improved was further highlighted last week, they had been comprehensively out played twice by New Orleans in the regular season but turned it all around, add in the huge postseason experience of Brady and I think the "upset" is overpriced today. Finally the Bucs, if they win would have the chance to make further history in a fortnight's time and become the first team in history to win, even play a Super Bowl in their own stadium and don't tell me Brady wouldn't love that on his CV.........if there is any room !
