Wolves have had a glorious return to the top flight, have never looked in any kind of trouble and are booked for top 10, possibly 7th, that is a target and I do not doubt they would like to be "best of the rest", but they have two massive games next week and surely both will take priority over this. In midweek they host Manchester United and next weekend they travel to Wembley to play their FA Cup semi final with Watford. The first of those two is very high profile and the kind of fixture they craved promotion for and the second, the chance to set up their first major silverware in almost for decades and first FA Cup final appearance in 59 years. It all makes a trip to Turf Moor a bit of a non event, the two clubs have met often at lower levels in recent years and whilst i am not saying that Wolves will not try , or want to win, failure to do so will not be the cause of too many tears, or remembered for long.

 

Burnley are one place and two points above the drop zone and the team immediately below them , Cardiff City, have a game in hand and the three teams immediately above them, have all played at least one game fewer, they only have three home games left to play after today, two are against Big 6 teams and they have to make the most of the other two.

 

Wolves have surprisingly struggled against lesser outfits, they have been beaten twice by Huddersfield , have lost to Crystal Palace, Cardiff and Brighton this term and only narrowly beat Burnley 1-0 in the reverse fixture and, have conceded in each of their last 11 games on the road . The visitors will be without defender Ryan Bennett, who serves the final game of a two-match suspension, they have not won either of the two away starts he has missed this season, including a defeat to Cardiff and in their all conquering Championship campaign last season, they lost 5/17 when he was sidelined, just 1/29 when Bennett was available.
