Serie A betting preview: Internazionale-Fiorentina
Inter will go second with a win and look to be heading back in the right direction under the leadership of Walter Mazzari ( who, contrary to popular belief, is not one of the 27 Baldwin brothers). They have been greatly helped by an easy schedule, but their four wins have come by a combined 16-0, including a 7-0 road win at Sassuolo last weekend and the draw came against champions Juventus, so things could hardly have gone better, especially as they ended last season with just five wins from 22 starts. Mazzari chose the Sassuolo fixture to re-introduce Diego Milito, who played for 37 minutes and scored twice and also contributed an assist, in a 37 minute appearance and I suspect that was as pleasing as the actual result for the club. The former Napoli boss spent heavily on some young and promisng domestic talent in the summer , but is not rushing to introduce them into the starting eleven and we might see the best of Icardi, Belfodil and Taider next season, having said that , all three are in the squad tonight, along with Milito. The real improvement has co me from the existing experienced players and Mazzari has got far more out of them (especially Alvarez, Jonathan and Nagatomo), than his predecessor.Rodrigo Palacio has continued scoring goals and the increased competition from Milito will help both him and Inter.
The visitors could also go second with the win, but are a little short of numbers and are missing suspended defensive midfielder David Pizarro (29-3-2 last season... they lost 4/8 without him, 6/29 when he played), midfielder Juan Cuadrado (36-5-7) and striker Mario Gómez remain sidelined and Josip Ilicic (31-10-2), who has only played 39 minutes this season and missed the last two matches, is very doubtful, but has made the 23 man squad. That leaves options short in the middle of the pitch and where I feel Inter will edge this one. 1 unit Inter -0.5 ball 2.07 asian line/Ibramarket.

La Liga: Athletic Bilbao- Real Betis
I am a fan of Athletic, they were wonderful to watch two seasons ago, not least because we landed some big odds bets following them, but they played with a freedom and flair that we all too rarely see in modern football. It is still there on occasion and you almost never see a boring match when Bilbao play. I discussed them ahead of their recent home match with Celta Vigo ...
Athletic Bilbao look destined for a solid season, they did not do much business in the summer, but the signing of Beñat Etxebarria from Betis looks top quality and Mikel Rico and Kike Sola will improve squad options. It was felt they might take time to adjust to Ernesto Valverde, who is a very different coach to Marcelo Bielsa ( isn't everyone ?), but he had eight years here previously as player and coach and understands how this club, which is very much a one off, operates. Aside from the top 3, Athletic look as strong as anyone and could compete for a top 4-6 finish if they can build on a decent start ( two wins and loss to Real Madrid) ,over the next month. The loss in Madrid was a bit of a wake up call, as people were getting a little carried away after winning their first two and they need to bounce back today. Man for man they look much the better team, even more so considering the visitors absences.
They won that 3-2 and to be honest, it should have been a bigger margin of victory, but they....... the rest of this preview is only for subscribers to the full service.
