The Wolves are circling at Goodison Park ........

football betting tips -

I have two strong suggestions in today's newsletter at odds of 3.75 and 11.0 and whilst I cannot share either of those here on the website, I have notes on another below and will post a second EPL preview tomorrow.

Premier League :Everton - Wolverhampton Wanderers

Everton are at a low ebb and despite being two points ahead of the visitors, I cannot believe the mood is as good in the home camp. It is a case of one step forward, two back for the Toffees and after a brief upturn, they are winless in five and without a goal in four and those goalscoring issues are nothing new, with just 26 scored in 32 EPL games played in 2024 (0.8125 per game). Top flight games have averaged 3.242 goals over the year and if a team is scoring just 25.06% of those, they are always likely to struggle.

Wolves are top scorers outside the top 8 and ahead of a home game with Bournemouth last week my notes included.....

Wanderers are out of the drop zone after that 4-1 win at Fulham and will be looking to build on that today. They are the second highest scorers in the EPL outside the top 6 and Matheus Cunha is on fire and has 7 goals and was magic last week, with two quality goals and an assist and a MOTM performance. Ahead of the game he got a "big up" from me and I also touched upon the offensive threat that Wolves now pose.....

They (Fulham)won those two subsequent games 2-1 (trailed into added time ) and 2-0, with the second coming against 10 men and no goals from a striker. Those "issues" are still a concern and I cannot see Fulham as a circa 1.60 chance against anyone until they are resolved. They "always" concede and Wolves "always" score with 2-2-1-1-2-1-1-3-1-2-2-2 goals in their last 12 starts including games against the top 4, with 2 goals away to Brighton twice (league and cup) and 3 at Brentford. Wanderers were a bit shambolic at the back when I saw them last month, but are ironing out some of those issues despite horrendous problems at CB (all credit to Gary O'Neil) whilst continuing to pose a threat upfront and I do not see them as a lost cause today. Matheus Cunha has been exceptional this season and will doubtless be the next big talent to leave Molineux.

They lost that 4-2, giving up three penalties, but again posed that big goal threat and they have now scored 2+ goals in 9 of 14 starts. The visitors are looking for a 4th straight win at Goodison Park and might not even need their usual two goals to claim it.
