Dons have not had a scheduled fixture for 16 days since they beat Cheltenham Town 3-2 here at the Stadium MK.............

 

I would be happy to see Dons, who are my League 2 outright selection ( see this post on the clubgowi website), win 4 or 5-0, to be honest, but that is not really how they are winning games and whilst goals are on the increase, they have conceded in their last five victories. Town have pace in transition and it makes sense that they are averaging more goals per game on the road than at home, where the onus is on them to make the running. They have scored in their last 9 away starts and lost 6 of the last 11 on the road and if there is any value today, how about with those trends continuing .

 

Given how meticulous Scott Lindsey is with his preparation (link) he should have his team prepped and ready for today. Chesterfield are a direct promotion rival, but were playing National League football last season and have played twice since Dons last took to the field including making a 10 hour round trip to Exeter City in the FA Cup on Saturday where they lost 2-0. They would have had to have Sunday off, so only one day and a light training session one at that to prepare, whereas Dons would have had 8-9 sessions on the back of a couple of free days, it is a HUGE advantage.

 

Lindsey is on a run of 4-1-0 with 13 goals scored when he has 8+ days to prepare his teams and whilst we have no real need to bet today, as a win is valuable for our long term positions, odds of 2.40 are a full 25-30 clicks above what they should be and it appears the visitors have a bit of an injury crisis and are shorthanded today.
