Wolfsburg have served us well in terms of scoring and conceding goals, both this season and before. Their games average 4.0 goals, only the top 3 have scored more and they have conceded the most amongst the top 8. They have tried to help address the later by signing Brentford RB Mads Roerslev this week. I am a little sad about that, but understand the decision and it is a good move for all concerned, as very soon he would have been third choice in his position. He has been a brilliant servant to the club, never complains, is super fit and always available and featured in all but six of the matchday squads since the Bees came into the EPL and started the last six, so is "oven ready". He is a modern FB , offensive minded, gets forward at every opportunity and should fit in really well at Wolfsburg.

 

Frankfurt are 3rd, but expected numbers suggest they should have four points and three goals fewer , having conceded six more and they do have a buffer over 4th and are in Rome tonight (Thursday) where both they and Roma need a result ( see above) and are winless next time out after four of their last six Europa League games, including the last two ( conceding twice in each). I assume that their supporters will again be travelling in huge numbers to Rome and that should ensure that Frankfurt put in maximum effort and Wolfsburg will have to take a back seat for now. 

 

The visitors have scored in each of their last 10 visits to Frankfurt, with 2+ goals in 7 of the last 9 and they will be the better rested and prepared for this game.
