Bologna served us well last season and also last time out when they earned that 2-2 draw in Turin .....

 

We backed a draw between the two stalemate specialists in the Championship recently and we have another in Serie A today. Juventus have drawn 14 of their last 21 starts (66.67%!) through which they are unbeaten (7-14-0) and Bologna have lost just 4 of 31 league games, drawing 6 of 13 this season. Both clubs have Champions League games upcoming, a must win fixture for Bologna and dare not lose game at home to Manchester City for Juve. The hosts have drawn 4 of their last 5 and Bologna arrive in their best form of the season with 7 goals in back to back wins after a shaky start to 24/25 following a dream 23/24 campaign. The last three h2h meetings have finished all square and a 4th looks firmly on the cards.

 

Bologna edged that game IMO and followed up with a 0-0 draw away to Benfica, whilst Juve boosted the form line with a win over Manchester City. Bologna have done incredibly well, they lost their head coach and three star players in the summer and yet, have a remarkably similar record compared to this stage last season, whilst dealing with that first Champions League campaign in 60 years.

Bologna now face their biggest rival (the two cities are 125km apart) in Fiorentina, but have scored 9 goals in the last four h2h meetings as host, 2+ in each and are in their best domestic goalscoring form of the campaign. The game has special meaning for Bologna head coach Vincenzo Italiano who left La Viola in the summer to come to I Rossoblù . He guided Fiorentina to three cup finals (two in Europe) in his three years at the helm and probably knows the visitors as well/better than anyone currently at the club. He is the modern day "tinkerman" (move over Ranieri!) and famously went 141 games in charge of Fiorentina without naming the same starting 11 in consecutive games! So will know what almost all the visiting squad bring to the party on an individual basis.
